Parkhurst Ghost Town (in Whistler), British Columbia

An abandoned logging town located on the opposite side of Green Lake. What was once a logging community is now a collection of hollowed out, empty, mostly collapsed old houses. Apparently a fair few of these houses were still standing not too long ago, but due to the delicate nature of the houses and the harsh winters around here, all but one have collapsed over time. Similar to the train wreck, this old place has become something beautiful. However, unlike the train wreck only one of the buildings had graffiti on it (perhaps this is because the others ones had all collapsed) but regardless, this relatively untouched piece of history and beauty was absolutely magical.

We walked along the train tracks from the end of Lost Lake Trail (near the Nicklaus North Golf Course) and turned up the hill and off the track towards the town about halfway down. We continued along the train tracks, even got passed by a train (oh the exhiliration of having a train pass right in front of you) and exited by the Wedgemount trailhead along Highway 99.

For those of you putting this on your list of things to do/places to go … happy hunting! =)
